I started writing for Afterglow ATX, a student-run online music magazine, as a staff writer. After one semester, I was promoted to content editor, a role in which I oversaw article production for a team of four writers, helping them develop their pitches into robust and thoughtful pieces. During my time as content editor, I also developed the ongoing series “Media and Music,” in which contributing writers explore the relationship between music and movies, TV shows, video games and more. As managing editor for the following year, I served as the final editor for roughly half of all articles published to the site. I also pitched and wrote my own content while overseeing the production of content editors and their teams.
